Castlevania Named to IGN Best of 2018 Lists
Castlevania climbed multiple Best of 2018 lists at IGN, joining both primetime hits and bingeable streaming breakouts. The animated series produced by Frederator Studios was nominated for Best TV Series of 2018, in the company of shows like The Good Place, Atlanta, and Killing Eve. Castlevania is also up for Best Animated Series of 2018 and is joined in the category by Adventure Time, another iconic cartoon produced by Frederator Studios.
“In a time when most studios still can’t seem to figure out how to properly translate video games to film and TV, Castlevania emerges as the new gold standard,” Jesse Scheeden wrote in the site’s review. “Season 2 builds on the foundation of the brief first season, expanding the world and introducing more compelling, nuanced characters caught up in Dracula’s war. It manages to be faithful to the source material while still making big changes where necessary and emphasizing character growth over mindless action.”
