Oct. 29, 1999: Princess Mononoke was released in the US. Happy 19th Birthday to a gorgeous and evergreen film ??
It doesn’t do to divorce Princess Mononoke from its purpose, so allow me a soapbox moment. Given our recent slew of shocking (un)natural disasters, it’s no secret that threats to ? ecology are compounding. It’s more important now than ever that we follow Mononoke’s example and act boldly in defense of the environment we and all other creatures enjoy. Please friends, remember to be environmentally conscious, today and everyday, and just as importantly – VOTE! Vote for the candidates that care about the environment, who are not in the pocket of those destroying it for selfish gain. It can be frustrating and disillusioning how few they are – but these candidates DO exist, they are doing this work, and if we care about repairing our planet so that we can retain it for another 20, 50, 100 years, it is on us to support them. And that means, we have to vote them into office. American fans, please get out there on November 6 ?
Rant over! ? So much love for this Adventure Time crossover by @deighvid. Speaking of animation addressing the human cost of environmental destruction…. ?
